Mercedes goes shopping at Ferrari
With the abandonment of the philosophy behind the W13 and W14, Mercedes has taken the first step towards a comeback to success. However, it is a complicated path that requires time, attempts, and above all, people. According to the Spanish press, two engineers have come from Scuderia Ferrari.
As recently reported by the Motor.es website, Angelo Rosetti and Emanuele Guidotti have left the Scuderia in Maranello to join Brackley, where they are expected to work on the 2024 Formula 1 project.
Who are the two engineers?
Angelo Rosetti, who also has experience with Ducati and Alfa Romeo, bid farewell to the Scuderia last autumn. He had been with Ferrari since March 2011 and was involved in engine-related tasks (Fluid Dynamic Analysis, Engine Concept and Design, Fluid Dynamic and Combustion team leader). On the other hand Emanuele Guidotti, who previously worked at NASA, focused on power units, specifically turbo design. He joined Ferrari in 2014.
According to the Spanish sources, Emanuele Guidotti is expected to join Brackley on July 3rd, while Angelo Rosetti will start on September 11th, after a gardening leave period.

Ferrari active in the technical market
In recent days, the market for F1 engineers, which is increasingly secretive compared to that of drivers but equally important, has made headlines with significant moves. For example, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur announced important new people who will join the Italian side in 2025 and work on projects for both 2025 and 2026, when the regulations will be revolutionized again with the introduction of the latest generation power units. In Maranello, the doors have been revolving in recent months: David Sanchez moved to McLaren, and Laurent Mekies will soon go to AlphaTauri, where he will take on the role of new team principal starting with the 2024 Formula 1 championship.
