Home » Spanish media reports Carlos Sainz – Mercedes agreement is close to being signed

Spanish media reports Carlos Sainz – Mercedes agreement is close to being signed. Carlos Sainz is close to signing with Mercedes.

According to Diario Sport, the agreement could be formalized in the next few weeks.

F1 Sainz – Mercedes
According to Spanish daily sports newspaper based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Diario Sport, Carlos Sainz is about to finalize the last details with Mercedes for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Despite the many rumors that have circulated in recent weeks regarding a supposed negotiation with Red Bull and Audi, with the latter positioning the current Ferrari driver for a year at Sauber, the Spanish driver would have reached a preliminary agreement with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff for the immediate future, effectively materializing the much-discussed “switch” with Lewis Hamilton, who will join the Maranello team in 2025.

The winner of the last Australian Grand Prix, despite the courtship of a giant like Audi – ready to enter Formula 1 from the 2026 season – would have chosen the stability of Mercedes, a team eager to return to the top after the fluctuating performances of the last two seasons.

An ambitious project that aims to provide him a solid foundation not only for 2025 but also for 2026, the year when the new technical regulations for aerodynamics and power units will come into force.

Carlos Sainz – Mercedes, the reports from Spain
“Even though speculations are commonplace, the latest whispers from the paddock indicate that Carlos Sainz is close to signing with Mercedes. In the last few hours, in this sense, information has emerged that suggests an announcement could be quite imminent. Everything could be formalized in the next few weeks.” – the Spanish daily sports newspaper informs.
