An ambitious goal for Singapore
Can Charles Leclerc cross the finish line first with the SF-25? Logically, it seems unlikely. Even the drivers themselves have repeatedly highlighted this in recent weeks during interviews with the media. The challenge is enormous, as the Ferrari simply does not have the outright pace required to win. Achieving victory would require something extraordinary: a flawless performance, a bit of luck, and mistakes from rivals.
Opportunities for such a scenario are rare, but Marina Bay could provide just that. The street circuit is notoriously demanding, and wet weather could further shake up the field. The close proximity of barriers and the complexity of the corners increase the influence of the driver, allowing skill and precision to play a bigger role than on other tracks in the calendar.
Leclerc’s optimism for the weekend
Perhaps this is where Charles places his hope. In a recent interview with Singapore’s The Straits Times, he spoke positively about the upcoming weekend. Leclerc acknowledged that the 2025 season has been extremely challenging from every angle, and Ferrari is far from where it would like to be—a fact that cannot be denied.
However, his personal assessment is much more encouraging. The former Alfa Romeo driver expressed satisfaction with his performances throughout the season. Despite the team’s struggles, his ultimate ambition remains unchanged: to secure a victory in 2025, ideally at Marina Bay.
Charles has a particular affinity for this circuit. Similar to Baku, the layout reminds him of the tight streets of Monaco. The narrow barriers and city-track challenges fuel his competitive spirit. He enjoys the complexity of Marina Bay and promises to give everything to deliver a performance that exceeds expectations. This is the hope for the next race weekend in the number 16 Ferrari.
Leclerc gives his all, but Ferrari must too
Meanwhile, the 2026 season is approaching rapidly. The new regulatory cycle is causing concern across teams, not just on the power unit front. The lack of clear reference points is creating uncertainty, as highlighted by Mercedes’ Andrew Shovlin, who noted that the Brackley simulator produces different results each week.
Ferrari faces similar challenges. All teams are navigating these uncertainties, and only the track will reveal who has prepared best. For Leclerc, this represents a significant opportunity. Nearly 28 years old and with seven Formula 1 seasons under his belt, the time has come to make a qualitative leap.
Eight career victories so far are not enough. Charles acknowledges that Maranello is pushing to its limits and sees the 2026 season as a chance to change direction. The magnitude of the upcoming changes opens many doors that Ferrari is eager to explore. As for Charles Leclerc, his mindset toward the future is clear: continue pushing, growing, and improving each season.
Throughout his career, Charles Leclerc has maintained a winning mentality. However, this drive must be supported by the technical progress of the Ferrari team. Only then will Charles’ talent and determination to win not collide with a struggling reality.
