Lando Norris on the rise
Thanks to the updates brought to McLaren, the MCL60 has transformed from an ugly duckling that struggled to make the top 10 into a beautiful swan, allowing Lando Norris to surprise everyone and compete for the positions that matter. In Austria, the young British driver finished fourth in both qualifying and the race, while at the British Grand Prix, he narrowly missed out on pole position, qualifying second – beaten at the last moment by Max Verstappen – and repeating the runner-up spot at the end of the race.
Lando Norris has shown that he is a fast and mature driver, in his fifth season with McLaren, capable of seizing the opportunities that come his way. It did not go unnoticed that Helmut Marko of Red Bull was seen sitting and discussing with Lando Norris’ manager, Mark Berryman. The Austrian did not shy away from complimenting the representative from Woking, telling journalists that he considered him “by far the strongest of the young drivers” and explaining how he would be “perfect for Red Bull,” especially considering his friendship with Max Verstappen.
Is Ferrari also an option for Norris?
However, Lando Norris is currently bound to McLaren until the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season, so the prospect of changing teams does not seem immediate. But as we know, during the summer, the paddock comes alive with the most diverse market rumors, in what is called the “Silly Season,” a period of nonsense.
The well-known British journalist Joe Saward reported the rumors circulating in Formula 1 at the moment on his blog.

“Last weekend, Lando Norris and Alex Albon were at the center of rumors regarding their future. Both have been linked to both Ferrari and Red Bull. It is legitimate to wonder if these moves make sense, but some believe that Lando already has some sort of pre-contract with Ferrari,” said Joe Saward, adding, however, that a move to Ferrari or Red Bull does not seem like a “logical” step for the McLaren driver.
But that’s not all: “Other rumors suggest that Carlos Sainz will join Audi in 2025, while Mercedes would be very happy to welcome Charles Leclerc.” Joe Saward then discussed Red Bull, confirming that Sergio Perez is on the hot seat and highlighting the possibility of Daniel Ricciardo taking his place as early as 2024 if he performs well with Alpha Tauri in the latter part of this season. The possibility for Liam Lawson to find a place in the team based in Faenza has been confirmed, while the chances of Alex Palou joining Formula 1 seem to be fading away.
