F1 | Charles Leclerc reflects on Ferrari’s performance at Monza
Charles Leclerc shared his thoughts after finishing fourth in front of the passionate Ferrari fans during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The crowd that filled the grandstands of the historic Autodromo di Monza was hoping to relive the emotions of last year, but this time the Monegasque driver was unable to secure a victory. Instead, he had to settle for a fourth-place finish, which still brings valuable points for Ferrari in the Constructors’ Championship battle.
Charles Leclerc speaks about his feelings after the race
In the post-race interviews, Charles Leclerc analyzed Ferrari’s performance in their home race. He explained: “We were not fast enough to fight with the top three. For sure, we had a little bit more compared to Mercedes, but not much. In the opening laps I struggled to get the tyres up to temperature, and because of that I was sliding around a lot — it felt like driving on a rally stage.” – the Monegasque driver pointed out at the end of the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
Charles Leclerc continued: “In the end, I have no regrets because I gave it everything. The only disappointment is not being able to give the fans the joy they deserved in such a special weekend for us. Until the very end of the season we will keep pushing to make our moment arrive, and I hope it can happen very soon. Baku is a track I really enjoy, and in the past we even managed to take pole position there with a non-competitive car. I believe it’s possible, and we’ll see what happens both there and in Singapore. Then there will be Las Vegas, which could also represent a big opportunity.” – the 27-year-old driver concluded.
