F1 Monza GP – Lewis Hamilton admitted he could not have achieved more in Italy
Lewis Hamilton spoke in the press conference after the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, where he finished in sixth place. Although overtakes were limited and both Ferrari cars missed the podium, the team considered the result a positive outcome.
In his post-race interview, Lewis Hamilton confirmed that it had been impossible to secure a better result than the one achieved. He explained in detail why sixth was the maximum he could reach on this occasion.
Hamilton admits sixth place was the best possible result
The British driver described his sixth position at Monza as the best that could realistically be achieved. Hamilton pointed out that there were still plenty of reasons to be satisfied, as he continues to grow with his new Ferrari.
“I would say it went pretty well. Honestly, I could not have done much more. The first stint was very positive and I made some nice overtakes. Probably I could have finished fifth, but no higher. There are many positives to take home since I learned a lot about the car and I am getting more and more used to it. With this kind of approach, we will keep making progress. We are still missing something, but if we get everything right, we can fight for some podiums here and there.” – the British driver pointed out.
Lewis Hamilton concluded by once again underlining the impact of the Ferrari fans, who gave him an unforgettable experience at Monza.
“Driving here is truly incredible. The passion of the Tifosi cannot be explained, and when you are part of Ferrari, everything becomes even more special.”
