Italian blogger Leo Turrini, who is famously very close to proceedings at Ferrari, reflects on the Maranello team’s preparations for the next round of the 2019 Formula One season in an article posted on his blog.
Leo Turrini informs that on Monday, Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel spent the whole day in Maranello in order to work on the simulator, as Sebastian had to check and approve the aerodynamic changes which will be used for the race in Barcelona. Leo Turrini calls it “wing stuff” so Sebastian Vettel probably tested the new front and rear wing. The goal is to increase the aerodynamic load in order to find a good balance that allows the SF90 to transfer the necessary energy to the tyres and allow to car to hit the ideal tyre window, which has been a major problem for the Italian side in the opening rounds of the 2019 Formula One season.
Italian blogger Leo Turrini also points out that the simulator and wind tunnel data attest a progress of the SF90 compared also to the pre-season testing indications. Turrini also wrote that at that same time Sebastian tested the updates (simulator) that were already introduced in Baku but due to Charles’s qualifying crash couldn’t be fully evaluated at the Baku City Circuit.
