Home » Sainz Sr says 2023 Ferrari F1 car will be better suited for Carlos than F1-75

Sainz Sr says 2023 Ferrari F1 car will be better suited for Carlos than F1-75. 2023 car will be better suited for Carlos than F1-75.

Carlos Sainz Sr. believes that the changes which Scuderia Ferrari will make to its 2023 Formula 1 car will allow his son to be more comfortable from the start of next season. After a rather difficult first part of the 2022 campaign, during which Carlos had difficulties in adapting his driving style to the F1-75 challenger, the Spanish driver’s feeling with the car gradually improved, which allowed him to have a strong final part of the year. Carlos has shown solid performances in Austin, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. It’s time to keep aiming high.

Carlos Sr. points out the most important thing is that his son has gone from less to more, although those six retirements have had a significant impact on his final position in the 2022 Formula 1 championship. The good thing for Carlos is that, while he was not in contention for the title, he finished the year showing the best version of himself and is now encouraged by the prospect of some changes to the Ferrari 2023 F1 car which should allow him to feel more comfortable from the beginning.

“The most important thing is that Carlos has gone from less to more. He has had six retirements, which have heavily penalized him in terms of points, but he has ended up going well, fast and comfortable. We saw that with his pole position lap in Austin and in the last two races. Next year’s car has good changes compared to what made him uncomfortable in 2022” – Carlos Sainz Sr explained in an interview with Dazn Formula 1, as reported by Soymotor.

On the other hand, Carlos Sainz reflects on Ferrari’s year, which has been marked by reliability issues and strategy errors. However, the situation did improve in the second part of the 2022 Formula One season. It is time for self-criticism in Maranello and most importantly to put an end to those internal problems that have prevented them from fighting against Red Bull for the World championship until the end of the season.

“It has been a great race for Ferrari, with a good strategy, dividing the plans of each driver. Red Bull did not expect Charles to go to a one stop strategy, it was a good second place for him and second place in the Constructors’ Championship for the team” – Carlos Sainz Sr explained – “It’s difficult to live with the rumours. There have been strategy problems, denying it would not make sense, but in the end you have to adjust things and learn from mistakes. A winning team is not built overnight and Ferrari a year ago I was not fighting for the runner-up position. What is need now is calm, cold mind and thorough analysis of the season” – the Ferrari driver’s father concluded.
