Motorsport journalist and Formula 1 expert Roberto Chinchero did not mince words in his latest live on Twitch. The journalist took sides in defense of Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc – a driver who seems to have become a target of the media after his performance in Australia -, recalling the strong bond between the Monegasque and the Maranello team.
“Charles Leclerc is Charles Leclerc, a fuc**** weekend can happen. Ferrari’s problem is not Leclerc, because if Ferrari in Baku gives him a car capable of taking pole and winning, he takes pole and wins. You don’t touch Charles Leclerc. He is a reference point for Ferrari, an added value. Questioning Charles Leclerc means not understanding anything about motorsport, or doing it for reasons that go beyond the support of a fan for a team,” Roberto Chinchero said bluntly.
The F1 journalist then continued strongly with his idea: Charles Leclerc only had one bad race, which can happen to anyone subdued. He added: “Charles had one bad fuc**** weekend, and so the weekend should be judged. But judging the weekend is one thing, judging the rider is another. When Max Verstappen makes a mistake on a weekend, he is said to be an idiot too”.
The journalist then recalls the close link between the Monegasque driver and the Scuderia. In particular, he stated that it’s not right to attack the driver when the problem is deeper and more rooted in the team, because that’s not how the situation can be improved. “If you question Charles Leclerc, you also question the Prancing Horse on a yellow background”, concluded Roberto Chinchero in a brief and clearly expressed manner, but extremely effectively.
