Ferrari Driver Academy member Robert Shwartzman will no longer compete in Formula 2 next season, after he finished second in the final standings two years in a row, first to Mick Schumacher and last year to Oascar Piastri. However, it will still be a very busy season for the Ferrari junior in 2022.
The young Russian driver will get the opportunity to take part in two first practice sessions with Scuderia Ferrari next year, as all Formula One teams will have to twice put a rookie in their cars for one practice session from 2022, but Robert Shwartzman is also hoping to get another two FP1 sessions with Haas, after testing for the American team in Abu Dhabi two weeksago, impressing everyone with his pace and consistency.
Robert Shwartzman is also lining up to do the Pirelli private tests for both teams and is hoping he will get a few more outings with Haas later in 2022, when it will be clear the American team will need at least one new race driver for the following year, as Ferrari junior Mick Schumacher will be hoping to find a better seat for the 2023 championship, while Nikita Mazepin may be forced to leave if his performances do not improve significantly next year.
