Lewis Hamilton firmly dismissed this idea, explaining that he trusts the new generation of cars to give a decisive boost to this declining phase of his career.

Ralf Schumacher speaks out

Ralf Schumacher, former Formula 1 driver and current commentator for Sky Sport Deutschland, was more blunt: “Unfortunately, Lewis has not been able to integrate well with the team and deliver his best. He cannot adapt to the car. I believe he is still tied to the past, thinking: ‘The car must be this way to make me fast.’ It’s not unusual for an experienced driver, I know from personal experience. My opinion is that the situation is now unsolvable, and therefore I would give Oliver Bearman a chance already next year.” – the former Formula 1 driver concluded.
