Charles Leclerc and the pressure in Ferrari
“Pressure? I have a lot of it. Especially since I joined this team. It requires a lot of passion and responsibility. Even a small mistake ‘costs’ the disappointment of many people. But I have always dreamed of driving in Formula 1 and for Ferrari, which is why I can understand very well the responsibilities that come with driving for this team.”
These are the comments of Charles Leclerc, highlighting the honors and at the same time the burdens of being a Ferrari driver during an event in Maranello organized by the team sponsor Bitdefender.
Yesterday Charles, Leclerc went to the headquarters of the Scuderia to work in the simulator with his teammate Carlos Sainz, who has already moved near the Ferrari Racing Department for some time. Both then took part in marketing activities that had already been planned (yesterday with Shell) on what was supposed to be the eve of the first of the two home races, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and the Made in Italy on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola.
The Grand Prix was canceled due to the flood that hit the region: “Everyone’s safety is the priority. I think it was the right decision, even though it was our home race. The images of the past few days are emblematic,” said the Ferrari representative, whose company donated one million euros to the local population in the face of the disaster that struck Emilia Romagna.

Charles Leclerc, a driver with extraordinary talent in quick laps, is coming off two errors in the decisive phase of the Miami Qualifying that exposed him to criticism. The Monegasque driver responded by saying that he is trying to extract yet another rabbit from the hat within the walls of his home in the Principality, where he already has two pole positions in Formula 1: “The cars are safe thanks to various safety systems. That’s why I focus only on speed and how to push the car to its limit. And sometimes accidents happen. When I start thinking about danger, I think I’ll retire. On the track, you only see the result, but there is a lot of work behind it, and people often don’t realize it. Trust is everything, from the car to the mechanics to the engineers. It can’t be any other way when you reach speeds of 250 km/h. Everything has to be perfect. Trust must be present in every aspect.” – Charles Leclerc concluded.
