All eyes to turn to the Sochi Autodrom on Sunday, September 27 for the 2020 F1 Russian Grand Prix.
This will be the eight-time that Russia has held a Grand Prix race. The first two installments came back in 1913 and 1914 with Russia’s Georgy Suvorin and Germany’s Willy Scholl winning for Benz at the old Saint Petersburg track.
Following years in the wilderness, the Russian Grand Prix was reinstated and has been part of the F1 calendar since 2014. Lewis Hamilton has won four of the six previous editions, with Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas winning the other two. This means that Mercedes has a 100% success rate at Sochi, and a perfect record in the Russian GP if you count Benz’s triumphs at the beginning of the 20th century.
Join us for the latest news, updates and results from the Sochi Autodrom, as the second practice session for the 2020 Russian Grand Prix is about to get underway, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc at the wheel of the SF1000, ready to continue evaluating the ideal set-up ahead of the qualifying session and the race on Sunday.
