As we have reported in recent days, we will have to wait until the Spanish Grand Prix to see the updates that Scuderia Ferrari has been working on in the first part of the 2023 Formula 1 championship. While waiting for the substantial package of developments, the team from Maranello will take to the track in Monaco – where the Monaco Grand Prix will take place this weekend – with the same SF-23 car that was seen at the Miami International Circuit.
However, there is a new development. This is reported by today’s edition of the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ferrari’s latest preparations for the Monaco weekend
No significant updates, but an important adjustment to the setup. In an article written by Paolo Filisetti, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ferrari will adopt a high-downforce aerodynamic configuration suitable for the demands of the Monaco circuit.

“Ferrari has studied a specific setup. Simulations would have allowed them to identify the correct balance of the car in Monte Carlo in order to achieve reduced tire degradation. This is not a highly pronounced factor on the roads of the Principality, but still crucial in the race, where typically only one pit stop is made,” the newspaper informs.
Paolo Filisetti then further delves into the matter: “The engineers from Maranello have conducted simulations with a car setup characterized by increased ground clearance suitable for the city circuit, and a dampened response from the shock absorbers. The findings have reportedly been positive in terms of handling and rear-end traction. These are two essential characteristics to be fast in qualifying and in the race at Monaco.” – La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. As always, the verdict will be given by the on-track action. We shall see.
