Let’s take a look at a porpoising aggressiveness vs frequency scatter graph based on the data gathered from the 2022 Formula 1 testing sessions which were held in Barcelona and Bahrain (Small dot is Barcelona, Large dot is Bahrain):
The graph shows the amplitude and frequency of the porpoising when it happens, but doesn’t show how often it happened.
When the Ferrari did bounce, it had a similar waveform to Mercedes, but the Mercedes was doing it at much lower speed and far more frequently.
