Before the start of the 2025 F1 season, drivers revealed their predictions for what they thought the championship would bring. Among them, Pierre Gasly’s and Oliver Bearman’s forecasts about Ferrari caught the attention of fans.
Unlike the previous year, Ferrari finished fourth in the Constructors’ Championship in 2025, behind McLaren, Mercedes, and Red Bull. In a recent video published on the official F1 YouTube channel, drivers read their pre-season predictions written before the Australian Grand Prix, and Gasly’s and Bearman’s comments on Ferrari stood out.
After a 2024 season in which Ferrari showed it could fight for the Constructors’ title until the final race, and with the addition of Lewis Hamilton, the 2025 campaign did not meet expectations. The Maranello team failed to secure a Grand Prix victory, neither with Charles Leclerc nor with Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc ended the season with seven podiums but never managed to finish first, while Hamilton only won the Sprint race in China.
Expectations for Ferrari in 2025
Drivers tried to predict what the 2025 F1 season would look like, balancing personal ambitions, hopes, and expectations. Some, including Carlos Sainz Jr., Lando Norris, and Isack Hadjar, came quite close to reality. What stood out most, however, were the predictions of two drivers: Pierre Gasly and Oliver Bearman. Both had surprisingly predicted that Ferrari would win the Constructors’ Championship in 2025.
Pierre Gasly admitted: “I’m sorry for the Ferrari fans, but I predicted Ferrari would be World Constructors’ Champion. I think I got that one wrong.”
Oliver Bearman, responding to the question, said: “Ferrari should have won the Constructors’ Championship, which unfortunately didn’t happen.”
