The anticipation for the debut of the “new” Las Vegas Grand Prix in Formula 1 is high. According to initial reports, it will be a continuous show with various activities framing an event that has divided fans.
While some see it as an opportunity to give even more visibility to the world of the sport, many have criticized both the layout and the weekend program. For the Las Vegas Grand Prix, rather unique schedules have been chosen. Considering the local time zone, cars won’t hit the track before 8:30 PM, with qualifying starting after midnight in Las Vegas. The biggest change is the race itself, which will commence at 10 PM on Saturday, November 18.
As for the track, the layout covers over six kilometers with speeds reaching around 340 kilometers per hour. All the elements are in place for a spectacular weekend, as confirmed by the ongoing preparations in the photos.
Grandstands are under construction to accommodate the many fans expected, despite the far-from-inexpensive ticket prices. One of the main attractions will undoubtedly be the brand-new ‘Sphere,’ an ellipsoidal arena situated in the center of the circuit.
Final work on the paddock, pit lane, and track is also in progress.
Here are some photos of the ongoing preparations in Las Vegas:
