Oliver Bearman secured tenth place in the Chinese GP, with both Haas cars finishing in the points and the British driver celebrating his overtakes in a way that could become a new trend. After a less-than-ideal start in Australia, Haas already showed improvements in China.
Oliver Bearman, in his first full season as an F1 driver, scored points once again in a race. After a disastrous start in Australia, the Englishman put in a solid performance, making several overtakes to climb up to tenth place.
Oliver Bearman’s greeting after every overtake: a new trend?
The curious thing was that, at the end of every overtake, the Ferrari junior would open the radio and simply say, “Ciao!” The greeting, always in Italian, was lighthearted but could turn into a trend. Even after the race, the Englishman kept laughing and joking about it during interviews. One of his “victims” was Carlos Sainz, whom Ollie Bearman overtook with ease.
Unlike the Englishman, the Spanish driver was never really in the race, and the Haas overtake highlighted Williams’ struggles on this track. For the American team, however, the first points of the season arrived, especially considering Esteban Ocon’s seventh-place finish, just behind Lewis Hamilton.
After the first two races, F1 takes a one-week break before returning for the Japanese GP, which will kick off the first triple-header of the season, featuring Suzuka, Bahrain, and Jeddah.
