Max impresses again
Max Verstappen has reached such a privileged position within Red Bull Racing that he even received approval to race at the legendary Nordschleife. Competing on the Nürburgring’s “Green Hell” is far from the safest activity, but the Dutchman’s status allowed him to take part in the challenge. In the past month, after every Formula 1 race weekend, Verstappen made a stop at the Ring — first to obtain his special license, and yesterday to finally compete on the track in full race conditions.
The Dutch champion secured victory in a four-hour NLS endurance race at the wheel of the Ferrari 296 GT3, run by Emil Frey Racing, sharing the cockpit with his teammate Chris Lulham. Once again, Verstappen demonstrated his versatility and ability to adapt quickly to different types of racing machinery.
Bearman full of admiration
Earlier in the season at Baku, Verstappen had arrived fresh from earning his Nordschleife license after testing a Porsche GT4. That achievement immediately caught the attention of young Ferrari junior driver Oliver Bearman, who openly praised Verstappen’s exploits. Speaking to gpblog, Oliver Bearman said: “I hope that one day in my career I will reach the point where I can do what Max does, and drive whatever I want just for passion. It’s impressive to see what he is capable of and it really shows how talented he is as a driver. It’s crazy. I believe he is the greatest driver ever seen.”
Oliver Bearman’s words underline the incredible influence Verstappen has on the new generation of racing drivers. For young talents making their way through the ranks, the Dutchman represents not only the benchmark of speed and skill but also the dream of achieving freedom within the sport to race across categories purely out of passion.
A role model for the new generation
Max Verstappen’s success and versatility make him an inspiration beyond Formula 1. His dominance and determination serve as a reference point for upcoming talents, who see in him the example of a complete racing driver capable of excelling in different contexts. Following his win at Monza, Gabriel Bortoleto also joined the chorus of praise, underlining how Verstappen’s achievements continue to set the standard for the entire paddock.
There is no doubt that Max Verstappen has become the driver who defines the current era of motorsport. His victories on traditional circuits, combined with bold adventures like the Nürburgring, further strengthen his status as one of the greatest racers in history — a reputation acknowledged not only by fans but also by the rising stars of tomorrow.
