In the first practice session for the 2024 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit, Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz and Haas’ Kevin Magnussen were involved in an incident that was investigated by the FIA.
The Decision
The International Federation has decided to fine Haas €7,000. According to the stewards, the Danish driver was not informed of the approaching Ferrari driver.
Sainz stated that the situation was not dangerous, but the stewards deemed it “potentially dangerous” and therefore punishable.
As a result, there will be no sporting penalty for Magnussen, who can continue the weekend without concerns (at least for now).
