Ferrari didn’t just bring the anticipated new floor to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix weekend but also sought to adapt the SF-24 to the characteristics of the Temple of Speed. The update package introduces modifications that are meant to balance the car and prevent bouncing in the faster sections, which heavily affect performance. Additionally, these solutions should make the SF-24 competitive on the track.
With the new asphalt laid just in time for the Italian GP, the Monza circuit has become as smooth as a “billiard table,” and the curbs are less pronounced compared to the past. Therefore, to be fast, it will be essential to have a car with the floor as close as possible to the tarmac.
The floor has been completely redesigned, starting with the orientation of the flow diverters that separate the Venturi channels, with some elements now having different inclinations. The outermost bargeboard has been revised with a more cambered shape that shows a small curl at the bottom when viewed from the outside.
The work done has been extensive because, according to Ferrari’s indications in the FIA document, the non-visible part has been revised, with a redesigned keel of the floor to promote better airflow expansion in the rear diffuser, aiming to prevent the onset of porpoising.
The new floor is also easily recognizable by the new design of the side edge, which shows a completely new longitudinal wing: the raised attachment with two lower vortex generators, followed by a visibly cut section to ensure more effective operation in the low-pressure area. Meanwhile, the floor in front of the rear wheels has retained the identity of recent races with the forward-open slot, as the tie rod was previously right behind the opening.
The engine cover has been reshaped with a noticeable narrowing under the bazooka near the suspension, increasing airflow towards the beam wing. For Monza, the version chosen has only one element with a very short chord.
Yesterday, we already described the low-drag rear wing with an almost flat main profile and a movable flap with reduced incidence. To gain downforce in the chicanes, a very small nolder has been mounted on the trailing edge.

Of course, to balance the car at the front, the last two flaps have been redesigned with particularly short chords and a decreasing incidence towards the endplate.
The front section also includes modifications to the nose, which now has a slightly narrower and more sculpted profile on the underside, with a different camera-car arrangement. Completing the package is a thinner support for the rearview mirrors.
