The Ferrari Driver Academy has officially announced the future of Rafael Câmara. The young Brazilian driver, who joined the Ferrari academy in 2022, has progressed rapidly through the ranks. After winning the Formula Regional Championship in 2024, Câmara went on to dominate Formula 3, securing the title with one race to spare in Hungary thanks to four victories, five podiums, and five pole positions.
After clinching the Formula 3 title as a rookie, Rafael Camara will now follow the same path as Leonardo Fornaroli. Like Fornaroli, who stepped up to Formula 2 with Invicta after his F3 triumph, Rafael Camara will make the same move. The Brazilian driver also shares an impressive achievement with Oscar Piastri, having captured the F3 championship in his debut season. His promotion to Formula 2 was expected, and the official announcement confirming his new team has now arrived. In 2026, Rafael Camara will compete in the Formula 2 World Championship with Invicta Racing.
Rafael Camara’s new adventure will officially begin at the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi. He commented: “I am very proud to join Invicta Racing for my first season in Formula 2. Over the past few years, this team has become a benchmark for any driver aspiring to race in F2, proving time and again its ability to develop young talents. Following in the footsteps of Gabriel [Bortoleto] and Leonardo [Fornaroli] on this championship-winning path from Formula 3 is a great honor. After such a fantastic season in F3, I feel ready for the next challenge and can’t wait to start working with the team.”
