Nico Rosberg watches the F1 season from the sidelines and confirms Hamilton’s suspicions: Ferrari has a problem.
Nico Rosberg, commentator for the F1 season on Sky Sport Germany and UK, after a career spent fighting Hamilton as a rival, now finds himself agreeing with him: the problem at Ferrari is now evident.
The former world champion supported Lewis Hamilton, confirming his harsh criticism of the drivability of the SF25 after a difficult practice session at the Spanish Grand Prix.
“Not drivable”: but is Ferrari still fast?
After finishing FP2 in a modest eleventh place and eight tenths behind Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton sent a clear message over the team radio: “The car is not drivable.” His weekend had started with better expectations, but the performance drop in the second session left him frustrated and worried. Strong words that did not go unnoticed. Nico Rosberg, present at trackside, confirmed:
“I watched Lewis and Charles, and I can confirm that Ferrari is not drivable. Too much understeer, too many sudden jerks: something is wrong with the car’s balance.”
Yet, the mystery remains: despite the balance problems, Ferrari is still competitive over long distances. Charles Leclerc demonstrated this by finishing third in FP3 and much closer to the top compared to his teammate.
The situation inside Ferrari appears ambiguous: on one hand, a car difficult to tame; on the other, a potential still present, albeit unstable. Lewis Hamilton talks about a “bad day” and an aerodynamic load issue but remains confident that a solution can be found already in qualifying.
It remains to be seen whether this combination of inconsistent performance and strong reactions from the drivers will lead to a turning point or to new tensions.
