With Charles Leclerc leading the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship ahead of the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Carlos Sainz is running out of time to keep himself in contention for main driver in the eyes of team bosses at Ferrari.
For British racing driver and Sky Sports F1 Pundit Paul Di Resta, the Spaniard has until the Monaco Grand Prix to have made up considerable ground on his Maranello teammate Charles Leclerc to be in contention for the number one driver role in the Italian side.
Whilst they have to compete, Rwandan-Belgian professional female racing driver Naomi Schiff, who is also a new presenter for Sky Sports F1, feels that the chemistry between the two is their greatest asset to the Ferrari team as they try to take hold of the 2022 Championship:
“The chemistry is really good, which is incredibly important for the team because at the end of the day, whether you like it or not, your greatest rival is your teammate. You have got the same equipment so you are going to be comparing yourself to that person but their chemistry will be so important because they will be working together to help the team move forward together rather than just focusing on themselves.” – she said, ahead of the Emilia Romagna GP Sprint Race at Imola.
