The Ferrari market currently doesn’t exist, according to a recent article written by Formula 1 journalist and expert Franco Nugnes for Motorsport Italy. The Maranello team has not started discussing contract extensions with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who are the two drivers on the priority list for contract extensions. It is conceivable that the first discussions will follow the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, but not before.
The recent rumors, therefore, are not even being considered or commented on in Maranello. Lando Norris, the impressive runner-up in the British Grand Prix last weekend with the resurgent McLaren, was immediately put in the spotlight by Joe Saward’s blog, linking Ferrari’s interest to that of Red Bull.
At Silverstone, Mark Berryman, Lando Norris’s manager, was seen having a conversation with Helmut Marko, fueling the rumors that the Austrian consultant himself had fueled, admitting that the British driver is the strongest young talent and that he would have the privilege of getting along with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
The Englishman, under the guidance of Zak Brown, is a cornerstone of the Woking team, and Lando Norris has a valid contract until 2025, so these English speculations can be useful in raising Norris’s stock and nothing more. Therefore, according to Motorsport Italy, the McLaren man is not part of Scdueria Ferrari’s plans because the current atmosphere in Maranello suggests a desire to extend the existing driver pairing, which, despite some recent minor tensions, is well-established and cohesive. The Scuderia therefore does not seem engaged in the drivers market at this stage, as reported by Franco Nugnes.

Even the speculations about Alexander Albon, who has made a comeback at Williams after being dropped by Milton Keynes, don’t lead anywhere. The Anglo-Thai driver did not respond favorably to Red Bull’s call (Marko had “sounded him out” as a potential replacement for Sergio Perez) because he would prefer to wait for an opportunity at Maranello. With Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz firmly in their positions, there is no hope of harboring illusions that have no concrete basis.
