More Stars and Stripes for Formula 1: fourth race in the United States coming soon. Formula 1 could soon welcome a fourth race in the United States.

After Austin, Miami, and the recent GP in Las Vegas, Formula 1 could soon welcome a fourth race in the United States. This was revealed by Chase Carey, former CEO of the Formula One Group and now executive chairman, who, during the just-concluded weekend in Nevada, stated his intention to hold a GP in New York in the near future.

Is Formula 1 Ready to Welcome the New York GP?
Carey disclosed that, in addition to Miami and Las Vegas, Liberty Media also has New York on the agenda as a future fourth race in the United States.

“This is what should happen. We said from the beginning that Las Vegas, Miami, and New York would be the next cities we should participate in. Las Vegas did not disappoint expectations.”

Despite the many criticisms directed at the event, the Las Vegas GP turned out to be a great success, delivering one of the best races of the season. The on-track spectacle, combined with the captivating backdrop of the sin city, once again confirmed Formula 1’s goal to expand its presence in the United States.

“Despite being bordered by walls, the second-longest circuit on the calendar impressed with the average pole position speed, reaching 240 km/h,” commented Martin Brundle at the end of the Grand Prix.

“The track is very fast, and the new surface remained smooth and slick. I did a few laps with an Aston Martin DBX. It made me understand that the circuit was not just a backdrop to a lot of lights and sounds but was rather technical and challenging in some points. It’s certainly not a series of 90-degree turns like those we saw in the distant past.”

“Some straights seemed a bit too long. In the race, however, they turned out to be very enjoyable. Each of the 20 drivers impressed me with how they faced the challenges, the unusual timing, and the jet lag.”

Since taking over in 2017, Liberty Media has strongly targeted the U.S. market. This, combined with the success of the TV series Drive To Survive, has contributed to the significant surge in popularity in recent years.

Many have expressed some concern about the direction the sport is taking, with Formula 1 slowly leaning more towards the American audience. However, with already three races in the USA, adding a fourth race on American soil may become somewhat overwhelming for fans. With a calendar of 24 races, though, making room for an additional GP won’t be easy.
