The week has begun, which will conclude with the new entry in the 2023 Formula 1 calendar: the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The sport, after stopping in Nevada in the early ’80s racing on a track inside the Caesars Palace parking lot, returns to Las Vegas on a circuit where the single-seaters will speed through the streets of the popular and luxurious Strip.
From Liberty Media, which has increased the number of American events to three this year, including Miami and Austin, apologies have been extended to all residents who, in recent months, have had to live with the various works related to the creation of the track and all the necessary preparations for the event.
“There will be 105,000 people; it will be the biggest event for Las Vegas,” said Greg Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media, interviewed by Fox5. “And it’s not just about the audience at the race itself, as thousands of people are expected to visit Las Vegas during the week to take part in the race experience, even if they don’t have tickets to the event. There will be parties from Wednesday to Sunday, almost a week of events and musical shows. Personalities from other sports will organize additional secondary parties.”
Regarding costs, he added, “I’m not blaming our partners; a minimum of five nights in hotels and similar factors have contributed to increasing them. Not everything is included in the ticket prices. It depends on high demand and what drives it.”

Greg Maffei, completing his thought, stated, “I want to apologize to all the residents of Las Vegas, and we appreciate that they have their patience and willingness to tolerate us. We will bring around 1.7 billion dollars in revenue to the area. So it’s not just for the benefit of fans who want to see the race. We hope this is a significant economic advantage for Las Vegas. This year has been challenging with the various constructions that have been ongoing; in the future, things will be simpler.” – he concluded.
