In a recent interview for Autobild/Sportbild, Mick Schumacher, Ferrari Driver Academy member and son of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher, talks about the dream of one day driving for Scuderia Ferrari and the help he receives from the Maranello team’s current driver Sebastian Vettel:
Mick Schumacher about his father: “What he [Michael] achieved was extraordinary. I realize that more and more every day.”
What role did the colour red and Ferrari play in your childhood?
Mick Schumacher: “A big one. 90 percent of my things were red and covered with Ferrari symbols.”
Is driving the red car also the goal in Formula 1?
Mick Schumacher: “Yes. In the end, I grew up with the dream of sitting in this red car. And this dream continues.”
Do you also talk to Sebastian Vettel?
Mick Schumacher: “If we have time, yes. Of course it’s always difficult because racing drivers have a very tight schedule. But when we do, we talk about racing but also about private things. He gave me a few tips. I’m very grateful for that.”
