Mick on his father’s legacy: “I notice these footsteps [father], I see the big wave that he has brought with him. He has also influenced a lot in this sport which I don’t think anyone else has done like him and therefore it is nice to race in the same sport. My goal is to become a Formula One champion too. We will have to see when that happens.”
Mick on Fiorano: “It’s the track in front of the company, it’s a special feeling, how many things have happened there that might not be documented but that happened anyway. I think a lot of what was tested there is the reason why Ferrari was so successful.”
Mick on the Ferrari family: “The people who are still following my father are a fanbase in their own way and of course it would be nice to drive for Ferrari. In the end the performance has to be right. But it would be my dream. What Ferrari has created and achieved with my dad is in my genes. The story with my father, Ross and Jean is very very big. Of course I talk to them. It is interesting to hear how it was back then, how all the race weekends were and what worked and what not. Trying this out myself is very interesting and helped me. I grew up with Ferrari, Ferrari was always on our television. On every wall, there was at least one picture of a red car, also in my room.”
How the media portrays him: “How the media portrays me is difficult to influence. I am who I am. Some people will like me, some people may like me a little less. That is something that is normal. I do not concentrate on it that much. I do what I enjoy and that is racing.” – Mick concluded.
