A few important changes will be implemented on and off the race track at the Miami International Autodrome before the 2023 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, which will be the second running of the event, as confirmed by the organisers.
Miami was the venue of a sell-out first race weekend last year, with about 250,000 fans arriving at the South Florida venue – that is located around the Hard Rock Stadium – throughout the F1 weekend.
Ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 race, which is scheduled to be held on May 5-7, several upgrades are carried out, most importantly a paddock expansion and track resurfacing.
An all-new ‘Team Village’ will be situated on the pitch inside the stadium, housing the hospitality units for the Formula 1 teams and therefore giving more space for the original paddock.
At the same time, organisers have confirmed that spectators who buy general admission Campus Pass tickets will have the opportunity to access the 300 level of Hard Rock Stadium and see directly into the village.
Regarding the race track itself, well-known circuit designers Tilke Engineers & Architects will be in charge of a repaving of the entire 3.36-mile layout, with the goal of providung a better chance for fans to see closer racing and on-track action, by giving drivers with more passing chances and thus adding to the spectacle.

Alongside the paddock and circuit surface updates, a new, permanent three-tiered Paddock Club building – that is able to house more than 6,000 guests in premium suites and a luxury rooftop club – will be built at the top of the team pit garages, along with additional hospitality experiences and space.
“After an incredible debut race, we have been working flat-out to ensure the 2023 event is an even greater experience for everyone visiting the Miami International Autodrome,” explained Tyler Epp, President of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix event.
“Stephen Ross and Tom Garfinkel are committed to making May’s event a best-in-class experience that is unlike any other Formula 1 race in the world. With new and enhanced hospitality experiences, the creation of the F1 Team Village directly on the football field and increased capacity we are expecting our second race to be even bigger and better for the fans, the teams, drivers, partners and everyone in South Florida.” – he concluded.
