Max Verstappen dominates the 4 Hours of Nürburgring with the Ferrari 296 GT3
The Dutch champion put on a spectacular performance in the German endurance race.
Max, what a masterclass
After qualifying in third place, Max Verstappen made his intentions perfectly clear: “I want to win.” The four-time Formula 1 world champion did not disappoint and, together with Chris Lulham, triumphed at the 4 Hours of Nürburgring. Driving the Ferrari 296 GT3 run by the Swiss outfit Emil Frey Racing and sporting the Verstappen.com Racing x Red Bull livery, Max Verstappen delivered an unforgettable performance.
The opening stint was nothing short of breathtaking. Max Verstappen seized the race lead immediately at the start and set an incredible pace that left his rivals with no chance. After just four laps, he was already ten seconds ahead. By lap six, the gap had grown to twenty seconds, and after fourteen laps, Verstappen had built a massive 62-second advantage.
Pit stop and driver change
On lap 15, Max Verstappen handed over the Ferrari 296 GT3 to teammate Chris Lulham. From that point, it was a matter of management, with the car completing the four-hour distance over 27 laps. Lulham brought the #31 machine to the checkered flag in style.
The Ferrari finished with a margin of 24.496 seconds over its closest pursuer, the #9 Ford Mustang-Haupt entry shared by Jann Mardenborough, Luca Fetzer, and Nico Müller Scherer.
