Max Verstappen has overtaken Michael Schumacher to move into second place on Formula 1’s all-time ranking for the most Grand Prix victories achieved with the same team. The Red Bull driver reached 73 wins for the team after dominating the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, leaving only Lewis Hamilton ahead of him in this particular record.
After taking his first victory of the season in Malaysia, Max Verstappen arrived at Marina Bay determined to control the entire weekend, from Sprint Qualifying through to the Grand Prix. He remained at the front and produced a pace his rivals could not match, securing the first Singapore victory of his Formula 1 career.
Max Verstappen reaches 73 victories with Red Bull
The Singapore success was also the 73rd Grand Prix victory of Max Verstappen’s career, with every one of those wins coming for Red Bull since he joined the team in 2016. That total has now lifted him into second place in the all-time ranking of drivers with the most Formula 1 victories for a single constructor.
The milestone puts the Dutch driver ahead of one of Ferrari’s greatest figures. Michael Schumacher recorded 72 Grand Prix victories during his Ferrari career between 1996 and 2006, a period that also produced five consecutive Drivers’ World Championships for the German. His complete achievements with the Scuderia can be explored in the Michael Schumacher F1 records and Ferrari statistics.
Lewis Hamilton remains the all-time leader
Max Verstappen had already drawn level with Michael Schumacher in Malaysia, and the Singapore victory moved him clear. The next target is now Lewis Hamilton’s outright record.
Lewis Hamilton collected 84 Grand Prix victories with Mercedes between 2013 and 2024 before moving to Ferrari. That leaves Max Verstappen 11 wins behind the record total achieved by the current Ferrari driver with a single team. Lewis Hamilton’s constructor-by-constructor record, including those 84 Mercedes victories, is available in the Lewis Hamilton F1 career and Ferrari statistics.
For a four-time world champion who has already reached 73 victories with Red Bull, closing that gap is now the next major benchmark in this particular Formula 1 record.
Only six drivers have reached 30 wins with one team
Immediately below the leading three are three more Formula 1 champions, the only other drivers to have reached at least 30 victories with a single constructor.
Sebastian Vettel sits fourth with 38 victories for Red Bull between 2009 and 2014, the period in which the German won all four of his Drivers’ World Championships.
Ayrton Senna completes the top five with 35 victories for McLaren between 1988 and 1993. During that period, the Brazilian also secured all three of his Formula 1 world titles.
Alain Prost, one of Ayrton Senna’s greatest rivals, occupies sixth place with 30 McLaren victories between 1984 and 1989. His 1980 rookie season with the Woking team is not included in that winning period. Like Ayrton Senna, the Frenchman won three Drivers’ Championships with McLaren before adding a fourth world title with Williams in 1993.
