Mattia Binotto will have to manage a difficult and unusual situation with Sebastian Vettel – Ferrari. Seb will leave the team at the end of the seaso.

Piero Ferrari, the son of team founder Enzo Ferrari, who currently is vice chairman and 10% owner of luxury race car company, knows that the Scuderia’s desire to win goes hand in hand with the value of the company. And therefore the choices made by Maranello regarding Formula 1, with Sebastian Vettel leaving at the end of the 2020 season, the arrival of Carlos Sainz to replace him and the responsibility for the sporting rebirth moved on Charles Leclerc’s shoulders, are to be defended, according to the son of Enzo, who is a member of the board of directors with a heavy surname.

“First of all I hope that the engines will be on in July in Austria. It won’t be easy to beat Mercedes, but we will never stop trying and our fans know it. I have faith in the choices that have been made. In Charles Leclerc we have a young man who is a symbol of hope and enthusiasm. I am optimistic. As for Sebastian Vettel, Mattia Binotto must be good at managing an objectively difficult and unusual situation, given that the driver will leave at the end of the season. I don’t know how my father would handle the situation, but he always said that the company matters more than any employee, even more than the best driver.” – Piero Ferrari said, as reported by Italian newspaper based in Bologna ‘Il Resto del Carlino’.
