Through his social media accounts, former Scuderia Ferrari engineer Luigi Mazzola briefly commented on the 2023 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, focusing particularly on Ferrari’s disappointing performance. Here are some of his most important considerations following the Monte Carlo event.
Luigi Mazzola’s comments:
“The rain enlivened the Monaco Grand Prix, which saw Max Verstappen as the absolute dominator. Fernando was an excellent second, the only one who kept pace with Max. Incredible performance by Ocon, who reached the podium and put his Alpine ahead of the two Mercedes,” Luigi Mazzola writes on Facebook.
He then reflected on the situation of the Maranello team, which in Monte Carlo only managed a sixth-place finish with Charles Leclerc and an eighth-place finish with Carlos Sainz, without ever giving the impression of being able to go further: “The Ferrari cars have gradually arrived among the midfield group, lacking performance and pace. My fear that we were becoming Sauber-like is approaching. Infinite sadness.” – former Scuderia Ferrari engineer Luigi Mazzola warned at the end of the Monaco Grand Prix.
