Good afternoon and welcome back to ScuderiaFans.com for our live coverage of 2026 Dutch Grand Prix qualifying from Zandvoort. Q1 is scheduled to begin at 16:00, with the session determining the starting grid for the main Grand Prix.
The Sprint underlined just how important qualifying is likely to be in this final edition of the Dutch Grand Prix. Under the new regulations, overtaking has become even more difficult, making track position particularly valuable around the narrow and demanding Zandvoort circuit.
Ferrari in the fight ahead of Dutch GP qualifying
Ferrari heads into qualifying with genuine reasons for optimism. Charles Leclerc finished only a few hundredths of a second away from pole position in Sprint Qualifying and then delivered an impressive performance in the Sprint itself.
Charles Leclerc was the only driver able to gain a position among the leading runners during the short race, passing Lando Norris after the McLaren driver suffered a clear drop in rear-end performance. The move ultimately helped the Ferrari driver secure second place in the Zandvoort Sprint.
That performance has reinforced the impression that Ferrari is firmly in contention ahead of the decisive qualifying session, where Charles Leclerc will once again attempt to challenge at the front.
Lewis Hamilton searches for a Zandvoort turnaround
On the other side of the Ferrari garage, Lewis Hamilton will be looking to turn around a weekend that has so far been relatively anonymous. The seven-time world champion finished seventh in the Sprint and will now try to find a stronger level of performance in qualifying.
With overtaking proving difficult at Zandvoort, securing a competitive starting position will be especially important for both Ferrari drivers ahead of the Grand Prix.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli aims to respond as George Russell sets the benchmark
Andrea Kimi Antonelli will also be seeking redemption after his mistake on the previous day. His task is made even more significant by the form of Mercedes teammate George Russell, who has so far completed a perfect Sprint programme with pole position in Sprint Qualifying followed by victory in the Sprint race.
Russell therefore enters qualifying with momentum, while Ferrari has demonstrated enough speed to suggest that the battle for the front of the grid could be extremely close.
Stay with ScuderiaFans.com for the minute-by-minute action from Zandvoort as Q1, Q2 and Q3 determine the starting order for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
