LIVE Race Report from the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix: After the fantastic, yet unexpected, pole position from Charles Leclerc, the day of the race has finally arrived.
In yesterday’s qualifying session, Charles Leclerc claimed his 27th career pole position, ahead of McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Analyzing the race pace gives Ferrari hope, but the unpredictable rain could potentially shake things up.
Follow our LIVE race coverage from the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, which, as scheduled, will start at 15:00 local time.
The live race report (which will be loaded below) will begin at 14:50, but there will be updates during the pre-race period.
Strategies and Starting Grid: Mario Isola’s Predictions
“An incredibly tight qualifying session, with the top four within a tenth and the top ten within half a second, providing the best possible preview for a race we hope will be just as uncertain and spectacular.”
Mario Isola emphasizes the unpredictability of the weekend: the risk of rain in the morning and during the race could overturn any strategy. Nevertheless, most teams have prepared their cars for a dry race, on a circuit with high aerodynamic load.
Expected Strategic Scenarios
Two pit stops with Medium + Hard: The fastest option for a dry race.
One pit stop with Medium and Hard: An option for drivers starting from the middle of the grid, focusing on managing tire degradation.
All three compounds (Soft + Medium + Hard): Useful for gaining positions at the start with the Soft tires, then exploiting the undercut in clear air.
“It only took a ten-degree drop in temperature, a few raindrops, and a 90-degree wind shift in key areas like Turn 5 and the final sector to create chaos and raise lap times,” stated Pirelli’s Motorsport Director.
