Heartwarming Canadian GP moment as fan gives Lewis Hamilton’s mum a “44” bracelet

The Canadian Grand Prix weekend produced plenty of action on track, but one of the most touching moments came away from the racing line, in a brief and emotional exchange involving Lewis Hamilton’s mother, Carmen.

During the Montreal weekend, a fan approached Carmen Hamilton with a friendship bracelet dedicated to the seven-time Formula 1 world champion. The bracelet carried the number “44”, a symbol closely linked to the British driver throughout his legendary career.

The exchange was simple, spontaneous and full of warmth — exactly the kind of moment that reminds fans how deeply personal Formula 1 support can be.

A small bracelet with big meaning

In the video, the fan can be heard praising Carmen, saying: “You’re amazing!!! Congratulations!”

Carmen replied warmly: “Thank you!”

The fan then repeated the message, clearly emotional at meeting her: “Oh my god, you’re amazing!”

Carmen’s response immediately shifted the praise toward her son: “He’s amazing, he’s amazing!!”

The supporter then asked if she could offer Carmen a bracelet, explaining the tribute behind it: “Can I give you a bracelet? It says 44 for Lewis!”

Carmen accepted it with visible joy, answering: “Yeah, sure! I love it, love it, love it! Thank you so much! I’ll keep that forever!”

For Lewis Hamilton fans, the number 44 is much more than a racing number. It represents the identity he has carried from karting to Formula 1, through world championships, historic victories and now into his Ferrari chapter.

The human side of Formula 1

Moments like this often resonate because they reveal a softer side of the paddock. Formula 1 is usually defined by speed, pressure, strategy and results, but fan interactions show the emotional bond that exists between drivers, families and supporters around the world.

For Carmen Hamilton, the gesture clearly meant something. Her reaction showed genuine appreciation, while her immediate instinct to praise Lewis highlighted the pride and affection behind one of the most remarkable careers in modern motorsport.

As Lewis Hamilton continues his journey with Ferrari, scenes like this underline how powerful his connection with fans remains. Whether through race results, personal messages or symbolic gestures like a friendship bracelet, the support around number 44 continues to follow him wherever he races.
