F1 | Ferrari – Bitter Las Vegas GP: Hamilton’s open-hearted confession
It was a recovery race for Lewis Hamilton at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion, after the chequered flag, shared an honest confession about his performance and the team’s situation. Lewis Hamilton made an excellent start to the race, immediately gaining several positions despite light contact with Alex Albon, and eventually crossed the finish line in tenth place. Without doubt, yesterday’s wet qualifying session strongly influenced today’s final result.
Lewis Hamilton’s first season with Ferrari has been somewhat complicated and certainly very different from the expectations that surrounded his arrival in Maranello. The seven-time world champion has not yet managed to score a podium with the Prancing Horse, unlike his teammate Charles Leclerc, who has finished inside the top three seven times this year.
The only win for Ferrari so far this season, however, belongs to Lewis Hamilton, who triumphed in the Chinese Sprint Race. Since that moment, the team has not been able to climb back onto the top step of the podium. With two races still to go, fans are wondering: can Ferrari secure its first Grand Prix victory of the season?
Not a wish, but an objective
After the Las Vegas GP, speaking to Sky Sport F1, Lewis Hamilton responded sincerely when asked whether he had any wishes for the final two races of the championship. The British driver admitted: “Well, there’s no point saying it because I’m sure I’ve run out of wishes.”
He may not have any wishes left, but he certainly has clear objectives for the end of the season. Lewis Hamilton made no attempt to hide it and openly stated: “I really want to give the guys and the team a great result. That’s my goal for the next races.”
It was classic Lewis Hamilton: no self-pity, no excuses, just a quiet determination to deliver something for the people in the garage who have worked tirelessly all year.
Two races remain. One last chance for the most successful driver in F1 history to stand on the top step in Ferrari red before the page turns to 2026. No wishes left – just pure focus.
