F1 | Lewis Hamilton concerned for Roscoe, asks fans for support
Following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, Lewis Hamilton is currently facing a challenging period concerning the health of his beloved bulldog, Roscoe. The thoughts of Lewis Hamilton at this moment are far from the racetrack. Just on Wednesday evening, the Ferrari driver shared through his social media channels his worry about Roscoe’s condition, the cherished English bulldog who has often been seen alongside him in the paddock.
Specifically, the British driver posted an Instagram story showing Roscoe looking unwell and receiving care from a veterinarian. Alongside the video, he wrote: “These have been scary hours, I ask everyone to keep Roscoe in your thoughts and prayers.” It remains unclear exactly what happened to Roscoe, but it is known that the bulldog, who will turn 13 this year, was diagnosed with pneumonia in April and has since been treated with medications, including acupuncture.
The first signs of serious health problems date back to last May in Imola. At that time, Hamilton stated: “He’s twelve and a half years old, so he’s a little old man. He had pneumonia, but now he’s fine. But certainly, every time I receive a message from the lady who takes care of him, my heart stops for a second.”
“Now I really want to try to take him to Silverstone and Monza to lift his spirits,” said the Ferrari driver. “I was with him before Miami. He still wants to play. He still has that kind of spirit, but he sleeps a lot.” Hamilton’s plan came to fruition only partially, as Roscoe was present at Silverstone but was not seen in the paddock at Monza.
After Wednesday night’s post, driver #44 has not shared further updates, focusing, hopefully, on supporting the recovery of his four-legged friend.
