Lewis Hamilton has thanked Ferrari’s tifosi for their support after a bitter Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza, promising that the Scuderia will continue fighting to recover from its recent difficulties. The seven-time world champion shared his message on Instagram after a weekend marked by his controversial opening-lap episode with Charles Leclerc, growing tension inside Ferrari and fading hopes of challenging Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes for the 2026 Formula 1 titles.
Monza had begun with enormous expectations for Lewis Hamilton, but the weekend ultimately delivered far more frustration than celebration. The incident with Charles Leclerc at the start, combined with the team’s disappointing competitive level, left Ferrari with another difficult home Grand Prix and intensified the debate surrounding the relationship between its two drivers.
Lewis Hamilton turns to Ferrari fans after difficult Monza weekend
After the race, Lewis Hamilton did not hold back in his interviews, directing criticism towards both Ferrari and Charles Leclerc. The tensions that have emerged between the two drivers have become an increasingly important issue for the Maranello team, with Ferrari’s management of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc coming under greater scrutiny.
However, the tone was different when Lewis Hamilton later reflected on the weekend through Instagram. Rather than concentrating on the disagreements inside the team, the British driver directed most of his message towards the Ferrari supporters who had backed the Scuderia throughout the Italian Grand Prix week.
Lewis Hamilton thanked the tifosi for their passion and affection, acknowledging that Ferrari had given everything it could at Monza but had still fallen short of the result everyone wanted. He also promised that the team would continue working with its supporters to find a way out of the current situation.
Hamilton expresses relief after Charles Leclerc’s heavy crash
Lewis Hamilton also devoted part of his message to Charles Leclerc following the Monegasque driver’s severe accident at Parabolica. The Briton expressed relief that his teammate was okay after the impact, although he did not address the obvious competitive tension that had developed between them earlier in the weekend.
The concern over Charles Leclerc’s condition had added another difficult element to Ferrari’s Monza weekend, although the latest update on Charles Leclerc ahead of Madrid has since provided positive news for the Scuderia.
As for the disagreement between Ferrari’s drivers, Lewis Hamilton offered no further comment in his social-media message. Their next opportunity to provide answers on track will come immediately, with Formula 1 moving on to the new Madrid circuit this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton promises Ferrari will keep fighting
Lewis Hamilton wrote on Instagram: “Thank you, tifosi. We gave everything we had, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Despite everything, the support you showed us throughout the week was incredible. I’m always amazed by the amount of passion and affection we receive. It means so much to me and to the team.”
He continued: “We share this passion with you and we will keep fighting together to recover from this situation. I’m happy to see that Charles is okay; we are determined to make progress and achieve great results, and we will keep giving everything to get the results you all deserve. I love you all.”
The message underlined Lewis Hamilton’s determination to turn the page after Monza, even with the championship situation becoming increasingly difficult. Attention now shifts to a very different challenge in Spain, where Ferrari hopes the Madrid circuit will better suit the SF-26 and provide an immediate opportunity for both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc to respond.
For Ferrari, the priority will be to convert that determination into results while also managing the competitive relationship between its two drivers. Monza delivered disappointment despite the extraordinary support of the tifosi; Lewis Hamilton’s message makes clear that he intends to keep fighting to give those supporters the results he believes they deserve.
