Hamilton reflects on 2025 as a learning journey
Last weekend, Lewis Hamilton reached a new career milestone, becoming the first driver to surpass 5,000 points in Formula 1. While the United States Grand Prix did not dramatically change the narrative of his season, it was far from disappointing. During media day, Lewis Hamilton commented on his 2025 campaign, acknowledging both highs and lows. He noted that the team now appears to be moving in a clear and positive direction.
“For me, 2025 has been a continuous learning process, with every race teaching me something new,” Lewis Hamilton said. “One thing is certain: the entire team, on track and back at the factory, is working together and pushing to continue making progress.”
Approaching Mexico with caution but hope
As Lewis Hamilton looks ahead to the Mexican Grand Prix, he will skip the first practice session to allow Ferrari test and simulator driver Antonio Fuoco to take the wheel. Despite this, Lewis Hamilton has already set his target: he needs to be fast from the second session onward. He remains measured in his expectations, emphasizing that no conclusions should be drawn before hitting the track.
“It doesn’t make much sense to talk too much before being on track. In my case, I’ll start in the second session, but I believe we know what needs to be done,” Lewis Hamilton explained. While Ferrari did not introduce major upgrades in Texas, small corrections led to noticeable improvements. “We are more determined than ever to make the most of our package, and I can’t wait to get back on track,” he added.
Building on previous Mexican GP success
Ferrari’s last podium in Mexico came during the previous season, when Carlos Sainz took victory and Charles Leclerc finished third. Lewis Hamilton highlighted this as a benchmark for the weekend. “I think we were very competitive here last year,” he said. If the SF-25 can maintain the momentum from Austin, the British driver sees a chance to achieve a strong result. “I hope we can apply the lessons we learned then and put them into practice this weekend,” he concluded.
