Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he has started a new collection after parting with his cars. The Ferrari driver has returned to collectible cards: “I buy them every week,” he shared.
Between Formula 1, Ferrari, and yet another collection, Lewis Hamilton continues to surprise his fans. Just a few months ago, the British driver announced he had sold his prized car collection, stating he preferred to keep only a Ferrari F40 at that time, which he described as a true work of art and the perfect crown jewel. But Hamilton had a surprise in store. The seven-time world champion has embarked on an exciting new collectible card collection. He revealed his growing passion for cards ahead of the Dior Men’s fashion show in Paris.
In an interview with Vogue France, Lewis Hamilton discussed his routine balancing training and fashion, highlighting this new hobby he has begun exploring. In a way, Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to collectibles, as he was an avid card collector during his childhood. “There are collectible cards like Pokémon, Star Wars, sports cards,” the seven-time F1 world champion explained. “As a child, I collected cards, especially for football magazines, where you could find all the players and trade them at school.”
This pastime is one many of us can relate to, recalling the famous Panini stickers from our youth. “I have a collection that keeps growing. I buy cards every week,” added the Ferrari driver, hinting at how completely this passion is consuming him. Lewis Hamilton himself is featured on collectible cards, including a recent Topps release that incorporates a real diamond in the design for the Dynasty Diamond Relics series.
Although the exact price of the card hasn’t been disclosed, it is reportedly extremely valuable, similar to another card released by Lewis Hamilton last November, which contained a piece of fabric from his Ferrari racing suit. In 2024, one of the Briton’s cards sold for $1 million. The Briton confirmed that he ended his car collection to fully dedicate himself to card collecting, a hobby that has been keeping him enthusiastic between tests.
Fans of the Scuderia Ferrari hope that this renewed excitement off the track translates onto it, wishing this season might finally be the one to see Ferrari back in full competitive form.
This shift from collecting high-performance machinery to high-value memorabilia highlights a more nostalgic and personal side of the seven-time champion as he enters this new chapter with the Scuderia. While trading cards might seem like a simpler hobby, the record-breaking prices and rare relics involved prove that Lewis Hamilton’s competitive drive for excellence extends well beyond the track. Ferrari fans are now hoping that this same enthusiasm translates into a winning spark on the circuit, making 2026 the year the Prancing Horse returns to the top of the standings.
