Lewis Hamilton has welcomed a new puppy named Halo during Formula 1’s summer break, offering a warm glimpse into his life away from the intensity of racing with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion has been spending time with the young Golden Retriever after losing his previous dog, Roscoe, last year.
Halo came from U.S. breeder Goldiva Goldens and has already accompanied Lewis Hamilton during a quieter period of the Formula 1 season. The British driver has shared relaxed moments with the puppy outdoors on grassy hillsides as well as indoors, providing a very different picture from the high-pressure environment that normally surrounds him at Grand Prix weekends.
Lewis Hamilton welcomes Halo during the F1 summer break
The arrival of Halo gives Lewis Hamilton a new canine companion following the loss of Roscoe, who had become a familiar presence alongside the Formula 1 champion over the years. The new puppy reportedly flew to Los Angeles and is being looked after with the help of the same trainer who previously worked with Lewis Hamilton’s pets.
The latest off-track moments have centred simply on the bond forming between the Ferrari driver and his new puppy. Lewis Hamilton has been pictured sitting with Halo on the grass while the young dog rests against him, while another moment captures the puppy getting close to his face as he relaxes indoors wearing a red shirt and black cap.
There is no sporting message or Formula 1 subplot behind the updates. Instead, they offer a straightforward look at a more personal side of Lewis Hamilton during the championship’s summer pause, when drivers have an opportunity to spend time away from the demands of travelling, engineering meetings and race weekends.
Halo follows a special chapter in Lewis Hamilton’s life with Roscoe
Roscoe had been closely associated with Lewis Hamilton’s life away from racing, making his loss particularly significant on a personal level. Halo does not replace that relationship, but the arrival of a new puppy marks the beginning of a different chapter for the seven-time world champion.
The simple nature of the latest moments is also what makes them stand out. Rather than focusing on Ferrari performance, championship pressure or technical developments, Lewis Hamilton has shared part of his summer break through ordinary time spent playing with and caring for his new companion.
For Formula 1 fans accustomed to seeing the British driver inside the Ferrari garage or behind the wheel, Halo offers another small glimpse of how Lewis Hamilton is using the break before attention inevitably returns to racing.

The timing comes during one of the few extended pauses in the Formula 1 calendar, giving drivers an opportunity to temporarily step away from the relentless rhythm of the season. Lewis Hamilton’s time with Halo provides a particularly personal contrast with the competitive demands surrounding his Ferrari campaign.
For now, the focus is simply on the new puppy settling into his life. The relaxed outdoor and indoor moments shared during the summer break capture a new companionship developing away from the paddock, with Halo becoming the latest four-legged presence alongside one of Formula 1’s most recognisable drivers.
