Lewis Hamilton finishes Friday in Baku on a high, topping FP2
Lewis Hamilton ended Friday in Baku on a positive note. The British driver claimed first place in FP2, a surprising result that, together with Charles Leclerc’s second place, brought smiles to Ferrari fans. After a challenging first session struggling with the brakes, the seven-time world champion changed his approach – and his driving style – in the afternoon. Tomorrow, changing weather conditions could influence track performance. However, Lewis Hamilton is confident that with the right adjustments, significant positions are within reach.
Lewis Hamilton’s feelings after FP2
“Overall, it was a productive day. The first session was challenging because I had to get used to the brakes, but we made some good changes for FP2. The car felt much better, everything started working well, and I felt increasingly comfortable lap after lap. It was very positive to have such a strong second session, probably my best FP2 of the year so far, which shows the progress we are making. There are still some areas we can improve for tomorrow, but I believe we are heading in the right direction,” Lewis Hamilton concluded at the end of the second free practice session for the 2025 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which is held in Baku City, on the Baku City Circuit .
Now, all that remains is to wait for tomorrow to see if the British driver can build on this momentum and deliver a strong qualifying performance.
