Lewis Hamilton aims for the big screen, with plans that include creating a comedy series and an animated film.
Lewis Hamilton is not just a seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. Over the years, the British driver has expanded his influence far beyond the racetracks, delving into fashion, music, and now cinema. In an interview with Ferrari Magazine, Hamilton enthusiastically discussed his experience as a producer with Dawn Apollo Films, the production company he founded and which is already behind the major Hollywood project “F1: The Movie”, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Lewis Hamilton talks about his experience with the F1 movie
In his interview with Ferrari Magazine, Hamilton spoke about his role behind the scenes of Brad Pitt’s Formula 1 film:
“I’m so happy with how it went. Being truly involved in the film and part of the creative process was incredible. Joe [Kosinski] came to me saying he wanted Brad Pitt, but at that time, we didn’t have him yet. I helped fill some gaps and stayed with the project right through to the end credits. I spent time in the editing room, watched sections of the movie on my laptop, and sent in my notes. I even met Hans Zimmer at his amazing studio in Santa Monica.”
The Ferrari driver now focuses on a new film project
Dawn Apollo Films will not stop at the Formula 1 movie. Lewis Hamilton already has several new ideas in mind, exploring different genres and platforms.
“We have a few ideas. I’m still figuring out the direction, but storytelling is something I have a real passion for. More than ever, we need stories that inspire people, especially in these difficult times.”
Among his future projects, Hamilton revealed that he also wants to work on a television comedy series and some animated films, showing a broad and cross-genre creative vision.
“I love comedy and I have a special idea for a TV series. We’re getting so many offers after the F1 movie, it’s crazy. But I don’t want to take on a thousand projects—I want to do what Quentin Tarantino does: focus on quality, not quantity.”
