Hamilton’s optimism: “We’re just growing stronger”
The 2025 season has undoubtedly been a tough one for Ferrari. The Maranello-based team currently sits third in the Constructors’ standings and even risks dropping to fourth place. However, Hamilton does not share the general sense of discouragement surrounding the team. On the contrary, he sees this period as essential for long-term progress.
In an interview with RacingNews365, the seven-time world champion explained that the 2025 season has allowed him to build closer relationships with the Ferrari staff and understand the team dynamics more deeply.
“The support from Fred has been fantastic,” said Lewis Hamilton, referring to Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur. “It hasn’t been a perfect year, we know that, but it’s been a year of great learning, and I think we’re just growing and becoming stronger. I believe that as a team we’re more united and solid than ever.”
Hamilton’s words reflect a mindset focused on the long term rather than on short-term disappointment. For him, this first year in red has been a period of adaptation — a necessary stage before returning to fight for victories.
Facing issues now to prepare for future success
Summing up the season, the British driver acknowledged that the team is already aware of the areas that need improvement. However, he emphasized that these challenges should be addressed now, while Ferrari is not fighting for the title, so that the team will be ready when the time comes to compete for championships again.
“There are clearly aspects we need to improve, but we’re not fooling ourselves — we’re perfectly aware of them,” Lewis Hamilton admitted. “Everyone is completely focused on the development processes, and right now we’re learning something from every race.”
He went on to say that Ferrari’s engineers and mechanics are analyzing each weekend with precision to understand what went wrong and how to fix it. “We look back at the previous race and identify where we fell short. These are things that are better to address now, when we’re not fighting for a title, rather than when we will be.”
Lewis Hamilton’s comments show that despite the lack of podiums and victories, his motivation remains intact. His collaboration with Frédéric Vasseur is proving central to Ferrari’s rebuilding process, as the team aims to turn the lessons of 2025 into concrete progress for 2026.
