At forty years old, the British driver has begun his adventure with Ferrari, likely one of his final seasons in F1. On the possibility of becoming a father, Lewis Hamilton responded affirmatively, but it is an aspect of his life that will depend on the development of his career.
On the 2025 F1 grid, only one driver has a child—Nico Hülkenberg, though he won’t be the only one for long. In December, Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet announced they were expecting a baby, who will be born during this season.
Lewis Hamilton tends to keep his personal life private. Since his breakup with Nicole Scherzinger, there have been many rumors about the British driver’s alleged relationships. Among the names mentioned are Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, and, more recently, Colombian actress and model Sofía Vergara.
The Briton wants to become a father, but for now, there is another priority
Does driver number 44 intend to start a family? The answer came from Lewis Hamilton himself, who, following his move to Maranello, stated that he is extremely focused on his sporting career. His goal is to win an eighth world title, setting (at least temporarily) a new record for championships won.
In line with his past statements, Lewis Hamilton confirmed his intention to dedicate himself to different phases of his life one step at a time. “I admire those who manage to do their job at their best while also having a family. But if I had a child, my eyes would always be on them because I love children.”
“I’m an uncle and I love spending time with my nieces and nephews, but taking care of them when they’re with me is stressful and requires commitment. But I have no regrets about this—I know where I am in my life, I’m fortunate and happy. In the time I have left in F1, I want to give my best, and I will.” – the Ferrari driver pointed out.
Lewis Hamilton concluded by reaffirming his desire to have children but emphasizing that it is not something he wants to achieve immediately. “I would love to become a father. I adore children, and it is definitely something I want in my future.”
