Hamilton brings everyone to dinner: “Proud to call them friends”
The traditions must be respected
Lewis Hamilton has once again stayed true to the tradition of the end-of-season dinner, a gathering he ‘started’ in 2022 to bid farewell to Sebastian Vettel. On the eve of the final weekend of the season, a total of seventeen drivers met up for dinner. The only absentees were, as usual, the Aston Martin duo Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, along with Nico Hulkenberg.
One year ago, the dinner took place just days after the heated dispute between Max Verstappen and George Russell. This time, however, there were no tempers to calm and no playful “set-ups”, such as leaving George Russell the seat next to Max Verstappen to see what would happen.
Many drivers reacted to the post or shared their own content on social media. Yuki Tsunoda joked that the dress code on paper had been “white”, but clearly not everyone had read the message. “Good times,” wrote Max Verstappen, while Andrea Kimi Antonelli marked the occasion of his first appearance at the dinner by saying: “First dinner with the best drivers in the world”.
