Lewis Hamilton pushes for a revolution at Ferrari and speaks of internal movements within the Scuderia, though he specifies he cannot say too much
Lewis Hamilton did not hide his frustration at the end of the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix with his Ferrari. After an anonymous race finished far from the leading positions, the seven-time world champion sent a clear message to Ferrari, stressing the urgent need to act not only on the car but also on the mindset and the entire organization of the Maranello team.
Lewis Hamilton publicly expressed his disappointment at the lack of significant technical updates, unlike what other top teams are doing: “Clearly I’m asking for it and we see how others are bringing updates. I honestly don’t know why we haven’t brought one. I believe one is coming very soon, I hope.” – he pointed out.
Lewis Hamilton opens up about internal mechanisms and calls for changes
The strongest words came shortly after, when Lewis Hamilton spoke about the deep structural shortcomings within the team: “At the moment, there are many improvements that need to be made within the system. I wish I could tell you that something is happening behind the scenes, but I can’t go into too much detail. There are many things I would like to say and explain, but my goal is to try to positively influence these changes.”
The Briton then reiterated that the current Ferrari is not capable of delivering consistent results and that a rebuilding is needed, laying a solid foundation for the new regulatory cycle set for 2026: “It’s clear we’re in a transition phase. We need solid foundations. We have to work to ensure that next year’s car is truly more reliable in the race. We can no longer waste time worrying or focusing on problems we already know.” – the British driver concluded.
Lewis Hamilton has thus pulled back the curtain on an internal environment that seems less calm than it may appear from the outside, taking on a leadership role not only on track but also in Ferrari’s strategic dynamics.
