When two giants like Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton join forces, every piece of news related to them gets magnified, and every project multiplies its power. The sporting goals are clear: Sir Lewis and the Scuderia from Maranello want to return to winning, preferably in 2024. Otherwise, together, starting from 2025.
However, the most significant union in the history of motorsport sets objectives that go beyond the track. Lewis Hamilton, in fact, wants to continue the social work at Ferrari that he started in 2020 at Mercedes. During the discussions that led him to Maranello, he communicated his intentions to President John Elkann. These intentions are fully embraced by Ferrari’s top executive.
Lewis Hamilton’s comments
“Obviously, if you look at Ferrari, they have a lot of work to do, so I’ve already made this a priority when I spoke to Elkann. And they are excited to work on this as well,” said Lewis Hamilton.
Always attentive to social issues, Lewis Hamilton involved Mercedes in his battles in 2020 with the launch of the Accelerate 25 program (according to which by the end of 2025, one in four hires must come from underrepresented groups) and the symbolic gesture of taking a knee before each Grand Prix in memory of George Floyd and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
